#9 Facial Symmetry

Full lips, bright eyes, pointed nose, white teeth, hourglass body. These are the things that makes someone very attractive. It is what makes everyone's head turn. A head turner for short. If you have traits, then you have been given the face of an angel. But even though one possesses all the traits mentioned, if it's not placed in the right position, one would look ugly. This is where facial symmetry comes in.

According to a research made by Little and Jones, which was posted at faceresearch.org, which talked about facial symmetry, says that their are two reasons why people are attracted to symmetrical faces. The first would be the Evolutionary Advantage View. The Evolutionary Advantage view states that the reason why people are attracted to symmetrical face is because people who possess such trait are found out to be more healthy than those who does not have a symmetrical face. Facial symmetry indicates how healthy a person is. The more symmetrical your face is, meaning the features of left side of the face is horizontally aligned with the features of the right side of the face, the more healthy you are. If your face is not that symmetrical, it means that you are not that healthy. The next reason is the Perceptual Bias View. The Perceptual  Bias view says that people who has a symmetrical face are more attractive because the human visual system can process symmetric stimuli of any kind more easily than it can process asymmetric stimuli.

People would most likely choose a mate who has a symmetrical face because of the two reasons stated awhile ago. If you think about it, healthy and fit people does look more attractive than those who are not. They seem to be a more healthier mate. Their off-springs would probably attain the same characteristics as their parent.

Symmetrical faces are found to more attractive than those who are not due to the fact that people with symmetrical features looks more healthier than those who does not. Bearing this in mind, if one is healthy, the probability of having a healthy offspring is pretty high. That offspring would most likely have the same feature as its parent. Making the offspring and the parent both attractive. This would probably be passed throughout the next generation.
